Good times with Auntie Rianne
On Mondays Charlie is a lucky duck because he gets to spend all morning with Auntie Rianne! They have so much fun together and here are the pics to prove it...
Avocado Time
Pickin' Apples!
We recently took the advice of Sunset magazine and headed out to Oak Glen, which is located in the picturesque San Bernadino mountains, to pick us some apples.
Charlie wasn't as impressed by the picturesque drive as we were...
And when we first arrived he was a bit confused because he thought we were in Iowa...
We picked a few apples and tried our best to get a cute shot of Charlie and the apples but it just wasn't in the cards....but it's still pretty cute - look at that little belly!!
Pat thought it would be best to sample the apples just to make sure they were good enough to buy (even though the sign said to NOT do this).
And we even spotted a lone pumpkin. We were going to pick a pumpkin from the patch but it was slim pickins. Nothing compared to Hoopes Melon Shed :)
We had a great time and still have 3 granny smiths left!

Polish Restaurant

On Saturday we went to the Polish Restaurant, Warsawa, in Santa Monica. It is a Blake family favorite and we/they have been going there for years! We barely got our food when one of the waitresses snatched up Charlie so we could eat. And he didn't even slow her down. She was in and out of the kitchen, serving drinks, taking orders! All with Charlie on her hip!! (Excuse the pics - they are not the best quality - off of my phone)
Here she is taking a quick break to give Charlie a smooch on his head :)
Another one of Charlie's admirers.....
He returned from the kitchen with a cloth napkin bib around his neck! Too cute!

Tired and exhausted after a night of waiting tables, Charlie fell fast asleep in his carseat

Auntie Laura's Visit!
We are so lucky to have Auntie Laura so close. Well, closer than Iowa that is. Seattle is just a short flight away and we love being able to see her often. Hopefully in the near future we will be able to go and pay her a visit!
At the Griffith Park Observatory (note the teeny Hollywood sign in the background)
